Welcome to toonut.com

home of the Rex and Dexter comic strip about a beloved weiner dog Rex and his loyal master Dexter. Cartoons are updated 2 to 4 times a month.

Free Cartoons

What is meant is that these cartoons are free of logic. Free of common sense. Free of whatever it takes to make the world go round in orderly fashion. Free of gravity and all those funny rules. So why do the cartoon characters stick to the ground? Easy. They stick glue to their shoes.

Humor Tip 1

A little humor has never hurt anyone. So don't be afraid to share this site with anyone who could need a laugh or two. When you share laughter and happiness, it's twice the fun. If you think any of these cartoons are too funny for you, then don't read more than one at a time.

Humor Tip 2

Can I laugh before I read the cartoon? Conventional wisdom says no, and that you should first read the cartoon before laughing. However, at toonut it is OK to laugh before you read the cartoon, during and after. Even if you do not read the cartoon at all. Remember, from tip 1 above, laughter won't hurt, too much, unless you laugh non stop for 12 hours.

Humor Tip 3

How do I spell Laugh? Just read the question carefully and you will find the answer. But it isn't really important how you spell it. Most important is to just do it! Some erroneous spellings may be: Laf, Laff, Laph, Lav, Lof, Lauff, Lagfh or any other combination of the 26 letters of the alphabet.

Humor Tip 4

Will people think I am crazy if I smile or laugh too much. Yes they probably will, but remember you will probably go crazy if you prevent yourself from laughing or smiling. So you be the judge, do I want to look crazy or go crazy.

Humor Tip 5

Where is laughter? Where can I find it? If you look real hard and search every corner of the world you might find it. But in fact, it isn't really that difficult. It is much easier than most people think. Humor is everywhere. So if you stay put and just change your angle you will also find it.

Cartoons for Teaching

Toonut is now hosting downloadable cartoon worksheets that teachers can use in the classroom.  The worksheets were previously at www.resultsinenglish.com

These worksheets either contain blank captions, fill in the blanks, or mixed words.  They are ideal for teaching English either to primary school students, or to students of English as a second language (ESL or EFL students)

They may also be used by teachers of any subject, for any type of lesson.  The worksheets can be used as a lesson starter, or break, or to add humor and lighten the mood.

For English, they can be incorporated into a regular lesson to highlight certain grammar points, to teach vocabulary, or for writing practice.  These worksheets have been used in classrooms with adults, teenagers and children alike and the blank-caption fill excercises have always been a great outlet for creativity and humor.
